Read one of the two texts describing natural environments in English-speaking countries (text A: Urulu/ Text B: Niagara Falls) and add the missing paragraphs to the text.

 Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is to waterfalls as the Great Wall of China is to walls, which is to say, it's not your average waterfall. Niagara Falls is really the collective name for three falls that straddle the United States/Canada border, as well as the names of the New York and Ontario cities that share the border. More than 3,000 tons of water thunder over the falls every second, and thousands of tourists are usually there to see it. Whether you plan to view Niagara Falls from the U.S. side or the Canadian side, it's possible to enjoy the sights without getting wet. But it's not as much fun.

Several islands sit in the river near the falls. The largest, Goat Island, actually adjoins the American and Canadian falls. It's accessible by car and has picnic areas, viewing areas and a restaurant. Visitors can also cross a footbridge to reach the Three Sisters Islands. The Cave of the Winds attraction is accessible from Goat Island. It's a cave located behind Bridal Veil Falls.

The three falls are part of the Niagara River, which forms the U.S./Canada border all the way from the city of Niagara Falls up to Lake Ontario. American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are on the American side of the border, and Horseshoe Falls is on the Canadian side. Bridal Veil Falls is much narrower than the other two. Just a small gap separates it from American Falls, so many people don't even realize that the two falls are separate. The waterfalls are 170 to 180 feet tall, but Horseshoe Falls is more than twice as wide as American Falls.

Tourist attractions, including plenty of souvenir shops, have sprung up on both sides of the falls.

Urulu
Rising dramatically from the Central Australian desert, the huge red rock of Uluru is one of Australia’s most iconic attractions.

For the Anangu people, Uluru is inseparable from Tjukurpa, or traditional law. The actions of the creation ancestors are still visible around the rock, and their stories are passed on from generation to generation, just as they have been for thousands of years.

Uluru is at its most stunning around sunrise and sunset, when the golden light makes the rock’s colours come alive.

Formerly known as Ayers Rock, Uluru is made of sandstone about half a billion years old. It stands 348 metres high and has a circumference of 9.4 km.

Uluru is a spectacular panorama, but it’s real beauty can be found by looking closer. This ancient monolith is home to rare plants and animals, important spiritual sites and caves painted with remarkable rock art.
