RECALLING

As Andalusian, we have certain disadvantages when pronouncing English such as the non-pronunciation of the final -s sounds or the omission of consonant clusters in words such as next and breakfast.

Nevertheless, there are not only disadvantages, we also have some advantages. Rare as it may sound the fact that we, generally speaking, have a lisping with the -s and -c sound helps us with the correct pronunciation of particular consonants. Additionally the intonation we give to our speaking is also really helpful with the English pronunciation.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

-S sound in plurals and 3rd person singular in the present simple of verbs.

Words ending in consonant clusters such as: next and breakfast

Listen to the following words, repeat them and complete with the consonants you hear

Hone_ _            Prom_ _ _            Te _ _ _             Ju_ _         Fif_ _ _         la_ _             da_ _
